Cottage Kitchen

A restaurant Queen has heard multiple good reviews. Even a quick browse on the net would give you good feedback. We just had to go there.

Place: Once you step in, you will feel that homey atmosphere. Lights were dimmed and the room is surrounded by American stuff (things that would indicate that it is American owned)

As usual, we did know what to order. We had to ask the waitress again for a recommendation. The blog that we saw was more than two years ago so we were not sure if we should follow. She recommended 'Barbeque Combination Plate' & 'Shrimp and Rib Combo'. We thought two barbeques of different specie did not much have much appeal so we went with the Shrimp and Rib Combo. The waitress guaranteed that it was good for two, even for 3 so we did not order anything else. We were hesitant with what she said so we held on to the menu just in case.

The complimentary bread arrived. It was served warm as the 2011 blog said, we had to touch it to confirm. lol.
Moment of truth. The food came. Our eyes nearly popped out. The plate was HUGE. If you are using a desktop, take a look at your keyboard. That's how big the plate was. Now take a look at the picture. Imagine how gigantic those two slabs of Barbeque Ribs were. Queen said it did not look like pork ribs, it looked more like human's ribs. FORGOT to mention, it also had 5 pcs of Shrimp along with beans, rice and coleslaw.

How was the taste? Splendid. The ribs were so soft you would not even need the knife to cut it. Barbeque sauce was just right.. no too over powering just like any other BBQ wanna-be dishes. Nothing so special about the shrimp, it was breaded... Coleslaw and the beans compliments the BBQ ribs...they hit the right spot.

The waitress lied. It was good for 5 people (max). Queen and I were only able to finish one slab of the BBQ ribs. She took home the other one, where it was consumed by 3 others.

Verdict: I would love to go back and try other dishes. If you want BIG servings, this is your place. The price for the combo meal was just about right. 550Php (If I'm not mistaken) is very reasonable for the quality and quantity. Their plain rice costs 60Php! That would be my only complaint.
